Lollipops Playland & Cafe, Underwood

Lollipops Playland & Cafe in Underwood might be a bit more “dishevelled” than my top 3 indoor play venues, but we still had a wonderful time there. As a franchise with locations all around the country, I’ve enjoyed a good experience at another branch in Canberra with my son, which made me look forward to this visit.

Being a parent has opened my eyes to how much I appreciate these indoor café play venues. My son is incredibly active, and when I’m invited to a café for a meal, the thought of keeping him still can be quite stressful! What I love about places like Lollipops is that kids can run around like free-range chickens, and that’s completely expected and accepted. For that reason, we often embrace these outings.

Our highlight of the day was the ball pressure machine. It kept my son entertained for ages as he played with other children, which was a joy to see! The hot food options were also well-sorted, and the casual atmosphere made it easy to relax. I’m glad we decided to give it a try, and I wouldn’t mind going back another time. However, considering the distance from home, I think I’d prioritise other centres that are a bit closer.
