Indoors
This shortlist reflects my experiences with a toddler, but many of these venues are also great for older kids. My aim is to share my unique perspective, highlight my favourite spots and give you a sneak peek of other locations.
Here are my top three favourite spots:
MiniBounce - Carindale: A classic choice that rarely disappoints.
Area 51 - Underwood: Expansive, award-winning, and truly unique.
Urbane Xtreme - Hendra: It encompasses every positive aspect of an indoor play centre.

BOUNCE, Tingalpa
I always thought BOUNCE in Tingalpa was strictly for kids over five, while MiniBounce in Carindale was the go-to spot for under-fives. But after a recent chat with a friend, I discovered there’s a Mini Zone within BOUNCE, perfect for younger kids. Naturally, I had to check it out!
Inflatable World, Victoria Point
Unlike other indoor centres that feature a jumping castle or two, Inflatable World is entirely dedicated to bouncing, making it a unique experience. And, of course, my son was stoked to be there. The under-fives play area was an instant hit for him; his word of the day was "Weee!" as he bounced around, giggling and tumbling like a rag doll. It was the first time I’d seen him work up a sweat, at an indoor play centre! I appreciated that the play area was age-appropriate and safe for my 2-year-old.
Chipmunks Playland & Café, Loganholme
I recently found myself visiting two separate Chipmunks Playland & Cafés—thanks to a little mix-up with Google Maps! First, I stopped by the MacGregor location, and months later, I ended up at the Chipmunks in Loganholme. Although I didn’t set out to compare the two, I’m glad I did. My experiences highlight how franchise-style indoor play centres can vary significantly from one location to another, even when they share the same name!
Pinwheel Island Kids Cafe, Macgregor
When I decided to fully embrace my quest for the best indoor play centres, a quick Google search led me to Pinwheel Cafe. Initially, I had placed it lower on my list due to its location, but after my visit, I can see the appeal of returning!
Tiddly Winks, Nundah
Tiddly Winks had been on my must-visit list for weeks, especially as my son started to show an interest in dancing. I was eager to see what it was all about, and I’m thrilled to say it exceeded my expectations—I can’t wait to go back! The disco party atmosphere here is truly one-of-a-kind; I haven’t come across anything quite like it before.
Rainbow City, Underwood
Located just four minutes from Croc’s, I thought I’d take advantage of the proximity and check out Rainbow City. Sadly, the standout feature for me ended up being the delightful Rainbow Paddlepop!
Bella’s Wonderland - Southport, Goldcoast
Bella’s Wonderland stands out as one of the best indoor play centres I’ve discovered in South East Queensland. This isn’t your typical play centre; its unique aesthetics and thoughtful design elevate the overall experience, making it well worth the drive from Brisbane.
Urban Xtreme, Hendra
Urban Xtreme in Hendra ranks among my top three indoor centres in Brisbane. What can I say? It ticks all the right boxes! As a parent of a younger child, I was initially a bit apprehensive. My research suggested it catered more to older kids, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it’s a comfortable space for toddlers, too.
Croc’s Playcentre, Underwood
I used to reserve indoor play centres strictly for rainy days, but I’ve come to realise that many parents likely do the same. Embracing these adventures on sunny days can be a great idea, as the centres tend to be quieter! When I first heard about Croc’s Playcentre, I was intrigued, especially since it has a Muffin Break onsite—what’s not to love about Muffins?
Lollipops Playland & Cafe, Underwood
Lollipops Playland in Springwood might be a bit more “dishevelled” than my top 3 indoor play venues, but we still had a wonderful time there. As a franchise with locations all around the country, I’ve enjoyed a good experience at another branch in Canberra with my son, which made me look forward to this visit.
The Jungle Adventure Play, Tingalpa
While waiting for my car to be repaired at Midas Tingalpa, I decided to check out Jungle Gym for the first time. Little did I know it would be the perfect solution for entertaining my toddler while we waited! Just a quick two-minute walk from the repair shop, I’d heard whispers about this place but assumed it was only for older kids. To my delight, I discovered it caters to babies and toddlers, too!
MiniBOUNCE, Carindale
MiniBOUNCE Carindale was one of the first places I took my son when he learned to walk, and it’s become a favourite spot for us! Located within the Carindale shopping centre, it offers the convenience of ticking off some life admin along the way, thanks to its proximity to Target, Coles, and more. As a long-time Carindale local, I can’t believe I didn’t discover this hidden gem until after becoming a parent!
Area 51, Underwood
After exploring nearly every indoor play centre Brisbane has to offer, I can confidently say that Area 51 ranks in my top three favourites. This expansive venue has won awards for its outstanding facilities and entertaining features. It’s a brightly lit, modern centre equipped with high-quality playground equipment that still feels brand new.
