Gumtree Kids

I had heard good things about Gumtree Kids through my mother’s group, so I decided to book my son into a session earlier in the year, which was held in New Farm Park. The messy play had eclectic styling, and each station featured a unique theme. When I saw the setup, I thought to myself, “Wow, I take my hat off to the business owner!” You would have to be super organised to manage the logistics and preparation required to bring this concept to life. I don’t think the effort for setup and cleanup is something many people would opt to do themselves at home, so it’s a fantastic business idea.

We arrived early, so I took the time to appreciate every individual detail in the setup before all the kids began to play; it was pretty impressive. The atmosphere was very relaxed, with people bringing picnic rugs and hanging out under the trees while the little ones explored. I heard through the grapevine that Gumtree Kids started off being housed within a nursery in Chandler but has since gone out on their own and expanded their events list with various pop-up locations around town. Sadly, for our first session, my son was more curious about the birds than about playing with the messy play activities and decided to wander into the ovals. However, we recently returned to the Carindale Reserve for a session, and he participated much more, which was great! We highly recommend it to anyone looking for something fun to do outdoors, they’re always mixing up the set-up themes.

They also host birthday parties which I think is an excellent idea. Just make sure if book a Gumtree Kids experience, you pack spare clothes and a towel. Hope you have fun getting messy!
