Wee Make Music, Bulimba

We signed up for Wee Make Music in Bulimba after hearing rave reviews from my Mother’s group, and we were excited to give it a try. The classes are held in an intimate community room, and it’s clear that the teachers are both enthusiastic and passionate about what they do. I can confidently say that the sessions are professionally run, featuring engaging props like musical instruments and the occasional puppet show, which quickly became our favourite part. We attended for one term and genuinely enjoyed our time there. However, I found it challenging at times to keep my son still and focused on the activities. Some days, he was more interested in the power points than the class, which was a bit anxiety-provoking for me, but I think it was just a phase.
Parental participation is encouraged, so it might be helpful if you have a knack for singing! The class time flew by, especially if we arrived a bit late, but it was also a wonderful way to connect with other parents who share similar interests. There’s a park and a coffee shop just a stone's throw away, so there was always plenty to do afterwards. We appreciated our time there and will particularly miss the end-of-class belly stamps, but we’ve decided to focus on more energy-burning activities for now.
Since then, I’ve followed the “Wee Make Music” playlist on Spotify, which regularly plays in our household. I’ve noticed that my son thrives during independent play when it’s on in the background!
