Clem Jones Centre, Carina
The Clem Jones Centre features what they call a “novelty pool” with slides, mushrooms, and buckets. It’s a great place to take kids on a hot summer day. The outdoor space has some astroturf, which can be a nice area to throw down a towel and sit on. They recently opened a café called "Body and Mind Café," which has a mini glass-gated kids' zone beside it—game-changing for this facility! Sadly, they don’t seem to sell my all-time favourite nuggets and hot chips, but you can enjoy specialty coffee and yummy smoothies, so that’s pretty great. The outdoor pool is not heated, so if you’re a tropical fish like me, you might want to seek warmer alternatives during the cooler months.
Side note: The Clem Jones Centre includes a large gymnasium, and if you are a member of the complex, you also have access to a professionally run onsite Kids’ Club.
