Langlands Park Memorial Public Pool, Stones Corner

When I first started looking into swimming lesson options for my son, I did a deep dive to find the right place. During my research, I noticed that a few friends who don’t live in the area drive the distance to go to Langlands Park Memorial. I thought it was odd that they would travel all the way there when there were closer alternatives. However, when I arrived and saw the pool, I was quite blown away.
The swimming classes integrate fun toys into their lessons, and you could see all the kids genuinely enjoying themselves. This is one of my favourite pools for three reasons: the tropical plants and electric style, the engaging story-time swimming lessons, and the toddlers’ pool, which has circular day beds.
If you’re lucky, the toddlers’ pool area sometimes has cubby houses and ad-hoc toys for the kids to play with, but note that the toys do tend to rotate, as seen in my photos.
There is a heated outdoor pool behind the toddlers’ pool, which is hard to come by in Brisbane. If the pool has a cover over the water, make sure to ask the staff to remove it if you want to use it. I once thought the pool was closed because of the cover, only to find out later that all I had to do was ask.
One thing to note is that the larger change rooms and toilet blocks are outside of the swimming lessons tent, which was a bit of a shock to me since I like being constantly cozy. However, I’ve since let that slide because I love the vibe of this place.
It would be great if the canteen had more variety. It occasionally offers banana bread, but otherwise, it provides basic snacks, soft drinks, and packet chips. Lastly, I need to mention that there is a park called ‘Chadwick Place’ (photographed) just down the road from Langlands, which is worth exploring if you have the time.
