Whale Park Wynnum, Wynnum

We stumbled across the Whale Park in Wynnum during one of our routine bayside walks before having our son, and we always thought it looked like a fun place for kids to spend time. Fast forward a few years to my son walking and a random visit on a hot summer’s day—we finally got the chance to test it out with our very own little family! Thankfully, we had our waterpark/pool go-bag in the car, so we changed and decided that was how we were going to spend the rest of my son’s wake window. My husband and I are those shameless parents who also wear our swimmers and “get amongst it.” Some people may cringe at the thought of being in swimwear in an open-air public space, but we found that’s the best way to enjoy the Whale Park. The area is nestled among big, beautiful trees and a nearby park, and the kids love the unpredictability of the groundwater spurts and the giant water bucket. I’ve heard loads of parents speak positively about their experience here, so if your family hasn’t spent quality time there before, be sure to check it out over the warmer months ahead.
