Colmslie Beach Reserve

In my opinion, Colmslie Beach Reserve is an underrated gem that often gets overlooked. Its proximity to the recently renovated Colmslie Park makes it a perfect spot to soak up some vitamin D, especially at the right time of year. We initially visited this lovely spot after a morning activity in Bulimba and ended up spending the rest of our morning having lunch on the sandbank. My son particularly enjoyed watching the boats go by. The flight path overhead added an extra layer of excitement, as my son loved spotting the planes flying right above us.

While the shoreline isn’t expansive—especially at high tide—I like to keep this spot in my back pocket for a casual afternoon when I'm in the mood to watch the sunset by the river.
