Play Matters Australia

There’s nothing I enjoy more than watching my son play around other kids. Even though he’s at an age where he plays beside them rather than with them, it’s still a joy to witness. I didn’t fully appreciate the concept of playgroups until a lovely mother in my Wee Make Music class mentioned a Spanish-bilingual playgroup available in Bulimba and Paddington. Since then, we’ve explored 3-4 playgroups, and I’ve found that the sessions organised by Play Matters Australia are particularly wonderful. These not-for-profit playgroups are generally hosted in community venues, like beautiful old churches or spacious halls filled with toys. However, my strong preference is for those hosted at daycare or kindy schools due to their fantastic setup.
For instance, the Carina State School playgroup is a fantastic place to spend time. Since it’s hosted at a Kindy, it has all the engaging areas you’d expect from a daycare, and sometimes the classrooms open up for fun learning activities. I've included some photos from a couple of different Carina playgroup venues, but keep in mind that each Play Matters-affiliated venue has its unique charm. Overall, I believe these playgroups are excellent for families with multiple children under five. Your little ones can enjoy a fun, fully fenced, friendly, and safe environment, while you get a well-deserved moment to relax and chat with other parents. Check out the Play Matters Australia website to find your local spots to play! I hope you discover your happy place in a playgroup too!
