Runcorn Pool, Runcorn

Runcorn Pool is a toddler’s paradise. The pool is located in the outer suburbs of Brisbane, but it is certainly worth the drive; you just have to make sure the toddler’s pool is operational before heading over. I know this because I called in advance the week prior, and the toddler’s pool was “under maintenance,” so given its location, I was super glad I checked first. When we got there the following week, a few of the water pumps didn’t seem to work, but that didn’t get in the way of our good time. This splash zone is towards the back of the facility and is fully fenced, separate from the swimming lessons and lap pool. It features beautiful clam-shell-themed elements, including splash pools and fun water bubbles. Further along within the same area, there is a water park with two slides, which reminded me a little bit of the Colmslie pool.
With lots of astroturf for the little ones to run around on, I would say this pool is worth spending a morning or afternoon at to soak in the sun. My son also loved watching the planes and helicopters go over the pool—just be sure to bring some food! I don’t recall the canteen making much of an impression. During our visit, we were asked to leave the pool early for some further “maintenance,” which cut our visit short. While our time was sadly brief, we wouldn’t hesitate to return to this pool again!
